Harold Blaney passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family. His passing brings sadness to those who knew and loved him.
Born in Medora, Manitoba, Harold lived a long and full life marked by independence, thoughtfulness, and quiet strength. Even into his later years, he remained stubbornly self-sufficient—still driving and managing all aspects of his daily life on his own terms.
Harold was a devoted partner, caring deeply for his wife of 47 years, Viola, until her passing in 2002, and then for his significant other, Trudy Kern, until her passing. Harold was predeceased by his brother Jack.
He found great joy in simple pleasures: golfing, lawn bowling, gardening, cooking, traveling, RVing, and spending time visiting with friends and family. In his younger years, he also enjoyed skiing and hunting, embracing the outdoors with enthusiasm.
Harold will be deeply missed.
