

Helen was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She was a proud veteran of World War II and often talked about her years of service. Later she moved to Canada with her husband John a few years after getting married hoping to buy their first home and start their family. She a lived a long, full life marked by curiosity, resilience, and a steady devotion to the people she loved. She saw the world change in many ways over her 102 years and welcomed each new chapter with openness and interest.
Helen loved to learn. She enjoyed reading, good conversations, and trying new things. Her curiosity also inspired her love of travel. She treasured the places she visited and the people she met, and she shared those experiences with family and friends.
Community was important to Helen. She believed in being there for others and built strong, lasting friendships throughout her life. Her kindness and reliability touched many.
Most of all, Helen loved her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband John and is remembered with love by her daughter, Janice (Beljanski); her son, Scott; her granddaughter, Echo and her husband, Nic; and her great granddaughters, Aurora and Briar. She took great pride in each generation and found joy in watching her family grow.
Helen’s life was filled with connection, stories, and quiet strength. Those who knew her will carry her memory with them always.
She will be deeply missed. Her family finds comfort in imagining her reunited with her beloved husband, John.
