Left to mourn are son Chris and daughters Wendy and Debbie (Steve), grandchildren Kayla, Maegham, Geno, and Diazhra, longtime friend Jean and Janis and many more. Joyce was a beautiful soul deeply entrenched in many lives. Joyce/mom/nanny affectionately known as the HUB in her circle of family and friends and will be missed for the way she really listened to your opinions and appreciated your input, for the enthusiasm she showed in her family’s lives, for her full hearted conspirator giggle, and adorable Cheshire cat smile. Joyce had an inquisitive mind, she always liked to learn new things and kept her reading almost entirely to nonfiction. She was a devoted wife and mother dedicating her soul and time to building up her family. She has left us with the wisdom to stay curious, demand hugs from your loved ones, and show appreciation for all you love. We will forever cherish her.
Joyce grew up in Saskatchewan until making her way to Victoria with her family in her early teens. Here she met the man she knew she’d marry after first sight William (Bill) Edwards. Joyce got what she hoped for and raised a family of two daughters and one son. Bill and Joyce managed their own motel, the Oak Park and painting business, The Painter. They retired and built their dream home together. Joyce lost her beloved Bill early to cancer but was kept company by her loving children, 4 grandchildren and great friends.
Please join us in commemorating Joyce on November 18th at 2pm at First Memorial Funeral Services at 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria BC.
