Joyce Sharpe

May 17, 1923 to July 21, 2012

Our Mom died peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on Saturday, July 21 at the age of 89. Born in Barnsley, England, later moving to Kendal in the Lake District. Mom emigrated to Canada in 1947. She was the eldest child of George and Elsie Bell. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Gordon and her husband of 62 years and best friend Norman. She missed Norman dearly but was comforted to know he would be waiting for her.

Mom leaves behind her three boys Bryan (Barb), Russ (Dorothy), Greg (Clare), all of Victoria. Grandchildren Rod, Jim, Lori (Jamie), Brad (Gail), Kevin, Heather (Graham), Julia (Dave), Joanna (Cory).

Her great grandchildren Bryan, Joey, Emma, Jake, Jenna, Evan, Dylan, Bria, Georgia and Lundyn.

Mom is also survived by her sisters Audrey and Shirley in Kendal along with extended family members in England. Also Mark & Cindy Bell and family in the USA.

The Family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses on the 4th Floor North at the Jubilee Hospital for taking such good care of Mom. She went out of this world a little easier thanks to their support.

A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel at 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria on Friday July 27 at 2:00 PM.
