Lawrence Greco, 54, of Victoria, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, after a courageous nine-year battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family, Lawrence left this world much as he lived—bravely, with a smile, and full of deep love for those closest to him.
Born on April 16, 1971, in Oshawa, Ontario, Lawrence was the cherished son of Maria and Francesco Greco (both deceased). He grew alongside his brothers, Robert and Paul and his many friends, forging lifelong bonds rooted in laughter and respect. In later years, Lawrence built a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Marian, with whom he shared three wonderful children: Alexia, Grace, and Emmanuel. His love for his family defined him, and his dedication as a husband and father leaves an enduring legacy.
He was known for his remarkable courage and bravery, qualities that shone even brighter as he faced his illness. Lawrence’s dedication to learning was lifelong; from research and reading to the hands-on challenges of fixing trucks and cars, he never missed an opportunity to understand the world more deeply. He found joy hiking the trails around Victoria, cheering on his favourite sports teams, and above all, traveling with his family and dear friends, creating cherished memories every step of the way.
Always quick with a joke and carried by a remarkable sense of humour, Lawrence’s courage and kindness touched everyone he met. His resilience, respect for others, his drive to live and endless enthusiasm for life inspired all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held privately for immediate family, and a celebration of Lawrence’s remarkable life will take place at a later date in Toronto, Ontario, for family and friends.
His life and legacy are beautifully summed up in this quote:
"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." – Mahatma Gandhi
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered forever.
