Born in Victoria, and raised in Metchosin. Leo’s passions were hunting, cars, and trapshooting. In his early years Leo was a Queen’s Scout, a downhill competitor with the Victoria Sno Bird Ski Club and a drag racing enthusiast at the San Cobble Raceway.
In 1971 Leo became a member of the SVI Rangers, an avid trapshooter and volunteer as BC Handicap Chair for the PITA.
Hunting was Leo’s true passion. He was most happy in the Gang Ranch where he hunted for the past 50 years.
Leo began his working career as a journeyman carpenter, then moved to tree falling in the Shawnigan Region until his retirement in 1989. He was known for his precise tree falling ability right up to age 79.
Leo enjoyed 30 years of retirement building a home, restoring his 1963 Corvette, and was notorious for helping others with his gift of the ability to repair almost anything.
Leo was a legend and will be missed dearly by many.
A celebration of Leo’s Life will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019, SVI Rangers, 3498 Luxton Rd. 2-5pm.
In lieu of flowers please donate in Leo’s honour to the Island Kids Cancer Association
