In her teenage years Margaret attended and graduated from Mt, View High School. In September of 1949 she married the love of her life Terry. Throughout her life Margaret was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi (Sorority) in cities Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Nelson and finally to return to Victoria. She was also a very active member of Gordon Head United Church volunteering in their second hand store for years. In the early 80’s her claim to fame was a hole in one at Mt. Douglas Golf Course and she was also a very active member of the ladies snooker group at the Oak Bay seniors centre,
Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband Terry O’Neill, her parents John Chiko and Martha Chiko (Novikoff), her sister Nettie Kade (Chiko) and Pauline Bragg (Chiko) and her granddaughter Rawnie (Brooks). She is survived by her Daughter Shireen Brooks (Ron), grandsons Jesse and Dustin (Kathryn) her brothers Peter Chiko (Alice) and Arthur Chiko and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on December 29th at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services 4725 Falaise Drive Victoria, followed by her internment in the Garden of Memories.
