Marie Audrey Pakes

Marie died on 29th February 2024 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital Born in Truro, Cornwall, England From an early age she loved to draw and paint. After graduating from Falmouth School of Art she set off for London and St Martin’s College of Art and Design. During her time there she became a model, met her first husband, and moved with him to Ampolla, Spain. In later years she lived in Italy and Venezuela. During those times she continued to paint, model, run her own dress design company, and eventually became a teacher of English as a Second language in Madrid, Spain. While there she and Fraser regained contact they had once had as teenagers in Truro. Madrid to Atikameg, Alberta, was the next stage then marriage, retirement to Victoria for the next twenty-five years. Predeceased by: Leonard Edyvean (father),Audrey Mary Edyvean (mother),Karen Edyvean (sister),Todd Pakes (stepson), Patrick Rice (first husband) Survived by: Fraser Pakes (husband), Susannah Huzmezan (daughter), Ben Rice (son), Marcus (Grandson) Tonya (Jason) (step daughter), Dylan,Cayden, Bryson (step grandsons), Alexandria (step granddaughter), and Sebastian and Tristan (step great grandsons) A Celebration of Life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, Tuesday 12th March at 10:00am. A donation in Marie’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
