She leaves children Adele, Barbara, Michele (David), and David (Thirell), grandchildren Matthew, Sean H, Bronwen, Sean B, Riley, and Fraser and great-grandchildren Sadie, Daisy, Kyra, Sam, Katie, and Doug as well as dear friends Michael and Francoise.
She was the matriarch of a much wider family that included many nieces and nephews (and their children) and close friends. Joan would not have lived as long or as happy a life without the devoted care of Adele and Riley Hern over many years. She also was part of a group of walkers in Ardmore for decades which gave her both exercise and strong friendships, in later years particularly Lynn, Doreen, and Cynthia.
