Norman was born in Montreal May 30 1945. He was 2 days short of his 80th birthday. After working many years in the position of warehouse person in Montreal and Toronto, he moved out to Victoria BC on Vancouver Island to join his sister. Here he found his true home with the ocean and rainforests. His brother-in-law’s family, the Pattersons, welcomed him as one of their own. He took up golf, fly fishing, and enjoyed camping trips and hikes on the west coast beaches. He loved to read fiction and non-fiction, some of his favourite authors were John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut and Haruki Murakami. He also loved to cook and was known for his Jambalaya, and famous Shortbread cookies. He was also interested in history and geography, and his memory for dates and places was truly phenomenal.
Norman was always pleasant and good humoured with a quick wit; He will be missed.
He is survived by his sister Dolores, brother David, and sister Donna (James Patterson), and many nieces and nephews back east.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BCSPCA.
