Roland passed peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital with family around him. He leaves his wife, Sharon, his children, Denis (wife Brenda), 2 children Houston and Madison; Roselyn McDermid (husband Tony), 2 children Tanya Robson (husband Craig) and Chantelle Yeo (husband Duncan); Richard (wife Janice) 2 children Mark and Matt (wife Julie); Carol, 2 children Keiland and Montana; Darrin (wife Fiona), 2 children Megan and Taylor. He also leaves 3 great-grandchildren, Paige and Nicholas Robson and Josephine Yeo.

H e wa s a g re a t b u s i n e s s m a n a n d entrepreneur. His greatest venture was owning and developing Hotel Sidney from 1963 on. Honesty was his driving force. He was a very strong man and was versatile at any project he took on or fixed.... a genius actually. He came from a very large family and remained close to all. He spent many years motorhoming in the winter with his wife Sharon, first in Mexico, then to California. They made many friends

over those years.

His last 7 years, due to a fall that broke his neck in California, he was limited in his physical activity. Sharon was there with him and helped him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week looking after his every need...his angel and the His last 7 years, due to a fall that broke his neck in California, he was limited in his

We want to thank the staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, doctors, nurses etc., especially in Palliative Care for their kindness and care. He was in the best place possible for his last days....above and beyond...

He was fortunate, due to our angel Sharon, to be able to stay at home and was only in the Hospital for his last 10 days.....
