Roy is one of the most dedicated people which I have met , although my time spent with Roy was negligible the impact of his character was great , Maverick you come from good stock and can be  very proud of your great grandfather , Roy you will be sorely missed. RIP

I first met Roy at the Ross Bay Hall back in the 60's. We played floor hockey at Mr. Hawes's barn. I met him again when I lived in Port Hardy in the early 80's. My condolences to Roy's family. Long may you run my friend. Dan..

You were always there for me when I was growing up.Sorry I didn't put something in before, but I didn't want to beleive you are gone.You made sure I learned how to balance my check book,haha and get my first aid, which was very important to you. I'm honored to have known Roy and sad  to see him go. He is irreplaceable and his legacy will remain in all of our hearts who knew him!!! Roy was the best Mentor I've ever met & for sure a friend you can count on!!! Had always a helping hand and guidance when I required!! My sincere condolences goes out to his wife, kids and family!!! I am greatly saddened by this incredible loss and I wanted to let you know that you are not alone in your grief and sorrow. I only knew Roy a short while, having joined the company this year, but the few times I met and spoke with him, his generosity and warmth in addition to his intellect and wit were immediately evident. He was a great story teller and his natural magnetism drew people around him.  My last conversation with him at work only a few weeks ago, he shared with me his excitement about his retirement â€œvillaâ€ in the Caribbean, his love of golf, his pride in a picture of his great grand-daughter and a loving picture of you Barbara with himself on one of his many salmon fishing trips. I was pleased to see him so happy.  I extend my most sincere heartfelt condolences to you Barbara and to his entire family. It is an understatement to say he will be missed and our thoughts are with you.

This was bad and sudden news for all employees of Bisha Mining Share Company. 
I am deeply saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Mr. Roy Wight. I had the honor to know him and had the greatest respect for him.
Roy was one of our best expat worker and friend in BMSC.
He has a very good behavior that respects everyone in mine, be you are a labourer or professional. He was a kind and gentle person.
He was a good teacher as well, honest, cooperative and hard worker.
This is a great loss especially for Bisha, because he was a very good team player.

I have worked for and with Roy Wight at Anvil Mining (Dikulushi) in the DR Congo as well as Nevsun Resources (Bisha Mining) and I have nothing but respect for him. He was the perfect manager, advisor and source of information. He looked after his team and served them tirelessly. He will be missed by me as a human and technical mentor. His sense of humour had a moderating effect on the stress of daily routine. The loss to his family must be far greater than mine and I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Barbara, children, grand children and one great grandchild.

Firstly, my deepest sympathy to all family. In the nearly 2 years that i knew Roy, he was a very good guy in the sence of every day in the same mood, he helped me, support me and his door was always open to anyone, you could always come in his office and talk to him. He was a guy who tried to understand your problem and give you good advice. We sure miss his presence and will miss it more in the future.
