Sam was born in northern France in 1929 and as a young boy lived through the horrors of World War II. Sam and his family emigrated to Canada in 1951, living in Calgary for 5 years and then moving to Victoria. Sam had a long career with the Victoria School Board and retired in 1988.
Sam was a long-time member of Westshore Alliance Church, with his faith securely based on the love and salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sam went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21 and is survived by wife Michèle and sons Daniel, Alan and Philip.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, April 15 at 2:30 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Langford (761 Station Avenue).
