Sandra was born in Port Alberni, British Columbia, in 1940.
She is preceded by her parents, sisters, Barbara and Deanna, and her loving husband of 62 years, Ronald, and son-in-law Erik.
She is survived by her two children, Charlie (Pamela) and Lori, and her daughter-in-law, Margaret, grandchildren Nicole (Matt), Katherine, Emily (Andre), Jordan “Jim”, AJ, and great-grandchildren Kyle, Logan and Hailey.
Sandra had a zest for adventure; she and Ron would hop in their van, affectionately called Ava by the family, and put many kilometres on it while travelling across Canada and the United States. Every summer, she and Ron would somehow keep up with four energetic grandkids and show them the places that meant the most to them in Victoria, which also included many trips up island and to the mainland.
Sandra was an astute businesswoman who bought and successfully ran Little Jack Horner’s Childcare Centre with Ron and her loyal team from 1970 to 2018. Hundreds of children walked through the doors of Little Jack Horner Child Centre in Saanich, and Sandra was proud to teach and care for them all.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many nurses, doctors, PSWs and the support staff at the Priory.
A celebration of life will be held in her honour on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at First Memorial Services and Garden of Memories (Royal Oak location). Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Priory in Sandra’s name.
