Sue Hing Lou-Poy

1924 – 2021

We mark the passing of Sue Lou-Poy, age 97, on the 27th October 2021 in Victoria, BC.

Sue Hing Der was born on the 22 September 1924, the 4th in a family of twelve children born to John and Rose Der.

Sue married Peter Lou-Poy on 10 December 1957 and as a couple forged a happy and prosperous life. They worked hard, shared interests in community, hosted many Der family gatherings and travelled widely. Peter passed away on 1 November 2005 and has been greatly missed ever since.

Sue was predeceased by her parents and then siblings Jennie, Helen, Annie, Walter, Thomas, Doreen and Reggie.

She is survived by her cherished sisters Barbara, Gwen, Cynthia and Dayanna and 3 generations of nieces and nephews. Sue was much loved by all of the family and will be remembered for her positive life outlook and playful sense of humour. As Sue often said, “We had some fun together, didn’t we?”

No service by request, but we trust that all who knew Sue will keep fond memories of her close in heart and spirit.
