Born in Khera, Panjab, India in January 1942. Surinder grew up in the village of Khera Punjab & completed her early education in the village of Nangal Kalan, followed by attending college in Sangrur, where she completed her nursing degree. Surinder’s first job was as a Nurse at Hoshiapur Hospital in Panjab and continuing her nursing career in Sahnewal Punjab.
In February 1965 she married Amrik Dhaliwal at which time she moved to the village of Dhaliwal, in the district of Jalandhar and later in the same year moved to Terrace BC. During her time in Northern British Columbia, Surinder continued her nursing career in both the Terrace Hospital and then the Kitimat Hospital where she was an active member of the community.
She is survive by her Granddaughter Nyah, son Ravi, Brother Harchand, Sister Jasvinder and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family & friends.
