I grew up with Terry, living only a couple of houses apart and we were the best of friends.  I would like to relate our first big adventure together.  It was in the middle of summer and Terry’s uncle on his mothers side had taken the family to Cadboro Bay beach.  It was Terry’s first time there and he was determined to visit it again, this time with me. So early that morning we set off on our adventure, me on my tricycle and Terry on his 2-wheeler with training wheels.  Terry had  carefully taken note of the way they had returned from the beach so he could find his way there again, and true to his word we eventually arrived at our destination.  I don’t remember too much about our time on the beach as it was a life time ago, but I do remember the trip home, dragging our bikes up Sinclair hill leaving the beach behind us.  It was a hot August day and we thought we would never reach the top of the hill, pushing our bikes ahead of us, sweating, gasping and I am sure, a little swearing but we finally made it.  At the top of the hill we were approached by a middle age women who not recognizing us, was curious in what house we lived in in the neighborhood.  Terry was quick off the mark, explaining that we didn’t live anywhere near by and giving her the full story of our adventure.  As Terry filled her in on all the details of our excursion the women kept getting more and more excited exclaiming that our mothers must be worried sick about us.  I will never forget this women and how she carried on and on.  Finally Terry, being the smooth talker he was, managed to assure her we were Ok and on our way home.  We finally got home in time for dinner and when asked where I had been all day, told my mother of our adventures. That was it, grounded for the rest of the summer; not allowed even to leave the yard.  Terry on the other hand had the good sense to tell his mother he was with me all day and not where we had been. Of all our adventures, I remember that one most of all.

I miss Terry very much! Terry & I grew up in the Mount Tolmie area! We knew it other for years but didn’t really start a friendship until we were approx 56 yrs old. I’m so happy we were able to have a great friendship. The Pic’s of him are some of the things we did together through his  brave fight against his illness! Terry was never one to complain, & just made the best of things as well as he could under the circumstances. Miss you Bud! RIP! TW

My deepest Condolences to Terry’s daughter, Krissy & her Family, to Terry’s brother’s, Raymond & Bill & to all his friends! Terry & I knew each other when we were kids’s& teenager’s! It would be a understatement to say we didn’t get along. I feel it was our personality’s that clashed in those early days. After my wife passed away in 2003,  one evening I was out on the town & ran into Terry at the bar in Barts! I said hello to him & from that hello was the beginning of a long friendship almost 20yrs.  We had many a good time over those yrs! We enjoyed beers & lunches at the Swiftsure, car shows at Ogden Pt,  during the pandemic we enjoy gathering at Gyro beach with a group  once a week to have a couple of beers  & socialize  outdoors, going to Shania Twain  show was a highlight for us, and of course we both loved going to the Movies at the Silver City  theatre weekly! I was so happy that Terry & I could put aside our differences & become friends! I’ll miss your humour & our friendship Terry,  May you Rest In Peace!👍
