

SAWLOR, Wayne passed away peacefully 83 years of age July 22, 2022 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital with his family by his side. Wayne is survived by his wife, Ruth, of 60 years, sons Brent and Gregory, sister, Betty Dickson (Al Watt), Georgetown, ON. Predeceased by his sister, Joan, parents, Roy and Marion, Eastern Passage, NS.
Wayne was born in Eastern Passage, NS. He attended Imperoyal School, Westside High School and Halifax County Vocational School, where he studied accounting.
He joined the RCAF as a young man and retired after 22 years. His military career was with Maritime Air Command, Europe, and CFB Esquimalt. His last posting was teaching at the Fleet School, Naden, CFB Esquimalt.
After retiring from the RCAF, he worked in the Superintendent’s Office of Motor Vehicles for 12 years. He brought in Child Seat Legislation and was Manager of Dangerous Goods.
Wayne carried the cross at St. Peters Anglican Church. He was a Scout Master and volunteered at Christ Church Cathedral for many years. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed a game of Bridge, golfing, family vacations, but most of all he liked cruising. He and Ruth had many memorable cruises.
A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Royal Jubilee, who were very kind and took such good care of Wayne, special thanks to Hanna and Lexi. And a very grateful thank you to our thoughtful neighbours and friends.
