Adan Garcia Jr., age 65, of Victoria, Texas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 23, 2024. Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 from 5-7PM at Colonial Funeral Home, with rosary beginning at 7PM. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 9AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with interment following at San Antonio Cemetery in Fannin, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Patrick Ochoa, Chris Ochoa, Frankie Reyes III, Daniel Mata, James Ybarbo and Rene Ybarbo.
Adan was born in Goliad, Texas on July 1, 1959 to the late Adan Garcia, Sr. and Oralia Ortiz Garcia. He previously worked at Skytop Brewster, Midas, Quick Align and Killebrew. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed bowling and played with the Victoria Latin Bowlers for 35 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley and even participated in a couple "Poker Runs". He was a loving grandfather and was their designated chauffeur. He would drive his grandkids to all of their events.
Adan is survived by his wife, Roberta “Birdie” Garcia; son, Adam Garcia (Brittany); sisters, Barbara Varela (Marcelo), Teri Reyes (Frank) and Belinda Garcia (Trino); granddaughters, Mackenize Garcia and Aria Garcia; grandson, Ezra Garcia; sisters-in-law, Dora Hernandez (Ricky) and BB Cardenas (Oscar); and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Adan was preceded in death by his father, Adan Garcia, Sr.; mother, Oralia Ortiz Garcia; and brother, Antonio "Tony" Garcia.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Maria Patarroyo Aponte at Memorial Hermann Center for Advanced Heart Failure and the entire team and staff that took care of him. They would also like to say thank you to Crown Hospice for the loving care that was given to Adan.
