Alfred Castilla Borrego

Alfred Castilla Borrego, age 88, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Odessa, TX surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5-7PM at Colonial Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7PM. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 9AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

Alfred was born on October 22, 1933 in Berclair, TX to the late Anastacio P. Borrego and Arminda Castilla Borrego. He was a 1955 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Victoria, Tx. He was on the football team and was a boxer. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Alfred worked in the finance business most of his career. After retiring from General Tire Corporation, he started Borrego Insurance Company. He sold the company in 2014. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was a resident of Victoria, TX most of his life. He moved to Odessa, TX 6 years ago to be closer to his son.

Alfred is survived by his daughter and son in law Marcella Richardson (Phil); son and daughter in law, Jeffrey Borrego (Maribel); daughter and son in law, Kim Flueeler (Marcel). He was a loving grandfather to 5 grandchildren and a great grandfather to 2. He is also survived by his sister and brother in law Sally Capistran (Oscar), their 3 daughters and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio and Arminda Borrego.
