Dearest Buck,
   I have been searching for Alma for months on end.  I purchased a new phone and somehow Alma's name wasn't in my contacts.  I had so hoped you would contact me when she left her earthly home , but it didn't happen.
  I met Alma in Victoria at the church somewhere around 1999 and immediately knew that God put us together.  She was funny, sweet, caring, loving, a great listener, and a child of the King.  I can't even believe she is gone, but we all know it happens when God says go home.  I could write a book about Alma, but I am not a writer.  We shared life all those years, praying, singing, loving each other. Alma never slowed down, helping and praying for others and having friendships everywhere.  My heart is heavy today as I just found out about Alma's death, but I know she is in our Saviour's arms at this very moment and she has many, many crowns to lay at Jesus' feet.  I hope that by knowing and loving my friend for these some 26 yrs, I will be determined to befriend many others like she did me and most assuredly tell them about my Saviour so they can live in heaven with me and Alma.  
  Diana, I know you are so. so sad at this time, but carry on Alma's legacy, as you complete your life with all of her love and influence she had over you.   I hope to see you in Oct if it at all possible and if you are still living with your daddy on Mistletoe St.  I will be attending my 60th high school class reunion in Corpus. Maybe we could at least sit for awhile and speak of my precious friend and your dear mother.

What a wonderful Christian lady she was. I met Mrs. Hawes in the 70's when I was a young funeral director at Colonial Funeral Home later becoming a partner at Rosewood Funeral Chapels from which I retired. 
I will always remember Mrs. Hawes as she was always smiling and  impeccably dressed and willing to help anyone.
Anytime I saw her I received a hug no matter where we were. She was one sweet lady.
I will cherish knowing her for so many years.
Rest in peace Mrs. Hawes and may gods light shine upon you forever. May god bring his blessing upon the entire family.

I'm heartbroken to hear of your passing, but find comfort knowing you're free from pain. Your kindness meant so much—remembering my birthday, anniversary, and my children's birthdays every year. I'll miss our chats, but I know you're dancing in heaven, shining as brightly as ever.

She was the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. Always pleasant and welcoming as if I were her child. So full of love for God and the world and her family.   We’d talk for an hour and still have more to say, I never wanted to leave. I’ve been blessed to have known her and Buck.  May your family find peace during this time.

I loved Mrs. Hawes so much!! I remember when she became a Christian and how much she encouraged me!! Three of  us high school girls would go to her house after school to visit with her! Praise God she is singing in heaven!!💕 Karen Marshall Perkins

She never had a negative thing to say. 

She always made you feel a part if the class. 

Buck was always by her side. 

Wish I knew her better. 

Glad the pain is gone.
