Ann Jacobs Gerdes

Alice Ann Gerdes, 85, of Victoria passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Ann was born on October 27, 1925 in Victoria to the late N.O. Jacobs and Edith Coffey Jacobs. She was a former legal secretary for Kelly, Hunt, Cullen and Mallette and assisted her husband in their business, Gerdes Photographer. Ann enjoyed participating in the Altar Society and bible study groups. She was active in the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Ann, the Kiwanitas, and the Pilot Club. For many years she volunteered at the Diocese of Victoria Library. Ann loved being with her grandchildren and supporting their activities.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, L.B. Gerdes, Victoria; daughter, Ginger Clement (Jay), Rockport; sons, Gary Gerdes (Marsha), Rosenberg, Galen Gerdes (Kathy), Victoria; sister, Doris Williams (Marvin), Bedias; grandchildren, Alexis and Christopher Clement, Ryan Gerdes (Tracey), Matthew Gerdes (Jennifer), Mark Gerdes (Ally), Kevin, Paul, and Chris Gerdes and two great grandsons, Christian and Mason.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Bishop David E. Fellhauer officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
