Audrey Douglas Burger Ellison

Audrey Douglas Burger Ellison, 83, of Victoria passed away surrounded by her family. Audrey was born December 27, 1934 in Tampa, FL to the late Eula Mae Howard and John Darby Douglas. Audrey graduated from Hillsborough High School and attended the University of Tampa and earned her BA in Elementary Education from USF in Tampa. Audrey taught elementary school at Dade City Grammar School, Carrizo Springs Elementary and Asherton Elementary. She was a member of John Wesley Methodist Church.

Audrey is survived by her children, Robin J. Bruton, Lisa B. Prenzler (Gary), Paul Douglas Burger (Kym); step-daughter, Stephanie Ellison; grandchildren, Michael Bruton (Stefanie), Jonathan Bruton (Michele); great-grandchildren, Katalina Bruton, Jacqueline Bruton, Brody Bruton, Barrett Bruton; sister, Elsie Douglas Gross; nephews, Timothy David Smith (Kathryn), Matthew Douglas Smith (Roseanne), John Darby Douglas III (Jennifer); grandniece, Sydney; grandnephews, Josh and Jack and one great-grandniece, Stella. Audrey also leaves behind her companion, Everett “Jake” Jacob to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, John Darby Douglas Jr. and Linda Reed Douglas and brother-in-law, Bill Gross.

A Celebration of Audrey’s Life will be Friday, November 16, 2018 at 3 PM at John Wesley United Methodist Church.
