Carmen Flores

Carmen Cardenas Flores, 88, of Victoria, passed away on, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Carmen was born in Inde, Durango, Mexico to the late Gregorio and Belen Rodriguez Cardenas on July 18, 1935. She worked as a Food Service Manager for VISD. She loved going to casinos, dancing, traveling, Mexican novellas, a wide variety of genre in music, and especially loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carmen is preceded in death by sisters, Concha Cardenas and Bertha Cardenas; and brother, Manuel Cardenas.

Carmen is survived by her beloved husband, Plinio H. Flores, Sr.; daughters, Gabriela (Ernest) Cardenas and Xochitl (John) Reyes; son, Plinio “Pino” (Janie) Flores, Jr.; grandchildren: Ashley Flores, Alejandra Flores, Antonio Flores, Damian Cardenas, Megan Sanders, P.J. Flores, Giovanni Flores, Johnny Reyes, Miguel Perez, Benjamin Poncio, Berta Poncio, Felicia Valenzuela, and Alicia Valenzuela; great-grandchildren: Brayden Flores, Sloan Sanders, Eason Sanders, Audryna Cardenas, Elayna Cardenas, Ezra Flores, Juan Perez, Ysenia Valdez, Miraya Valdez, Pablo Valdez, Isabella Martinez and Aliyana Lisa Felan; and great-great-grandchildren; Nova Garza, Luna Garza, and Freya Garza. In addition, Carmen also leaves behind numerous extended family, all of whom will cherish her memory.

The family will gather for a visitation at 9:00 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 AM with Deacon Larry Koether officiating, and followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ben Sheeran officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
