

Celesta recently celebrated her 93rd birthday. She was born on April 4, 1923 in Coleman, Texas to John Benjamin King, Sr. and Willie Maud Campbell King. She is survived by her daughter, Billye Newman and her husband, Larry of Victoria; her son, Dennis and his wife, Bonnie of Highland Beach, Florida. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Cindy Kirkpatrick of Cypress, and Kent Newman and wife Beth of Sugar Land; her great-grandson, Dean Kirkpatrick lives in California. She was blessed to have many caring nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Koenig, and her great-granddaughter, Stephanie Kirkpatrick; also, her two brothers, John, Jr., and W.O, as well as her sister, Marietta King Wallace.
Celesta lived most of her life in Victoria. She and her husband worked many years for Alamo Express Freight Lines. She loved cooking, quilting, and reading. But most of all, she loved family.
The family wishes to thank Celesta’s close friend, Charlotte Dick, for helping her over the past few years. Charlotte became her loving and caring guardian angel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Graveside services will be 11:30 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
