Clemente F. Rivera

Clemente F. Rivera, 71 of Victoria, went to be with the Lord from the comfort of his home with gracious and comforting services of Hospice of South Texas on December 30, 2015. He was born in McFaddin, TX to the late Fidel and Josepha Rivera. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army in Vietnam. He later retired as a Sergeant First Class Drill Instructor in 1981. Clemente had a strong love for his family, his country and his wife. He was the jokester who loved to play pranks and make jokes at any opportunity.

He is survived by his wife, Alice G. Rivera of Victoria; sisters, Mary R. Perez and Gloria R. Martinez, brother, Alex Rivera, all of Austin, TX; children, Arlinda J. Zimmerman, Jr. (Ricky) of Prairieville, LA, Rita E. Rivera, Stacey R. Muro both of Lake Charles, LA, Lori Shelton (Richard), and Lora B. Buehrig (Young) both of Victoria; sons, Clemente F. Rivera, Jr. (Aimee) of Lake Charles, LA and Robert (Becky) Guerra, Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX; 18 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. Clemente had a special place in his heart for his Tia Lupe and Tio Pete Cavazos, who loved and cared for him throughout his youth.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Enrique Rivera and sister, Esther R. Cardiel.

Rosary will be held 9:30 am, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Military honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council.

Pallbearers will be Clemente F. Rivera, Jr., Young Buehrig, Cody Walker, Robert Guerra, Jr., Ricky Zimmerman, Jr., Jason Zuniga and Michael Rivera. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Rivera, Keegan Rivera, David Partida, William Zimmerman and Rey Garza, Sr.

A Special Recognition to Dr. Armando Diaz and staff for their endless help and Hospice of South Texas for their comfort and guidance.
