Connie Morton Bartay Dincans

Connie Morton Bartay Dincans, 76, of Victoria, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 13, 2024. Connie was born January 22, 1948, in Orange, TX to the late Evelyn Brown and Edgar Vernon Morton.

She loved helping people and was called by God to open an assisted living facility, called Paradise Oaks. She was a fervent and faithful servant of Christ. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

When she wasn’t with her family, she was with her second family, the congregation of the Jesus Church, who she deeply loved and cherished.

Connie is survived by daughters, Paula Eggemeyer (Vance) of Victoria, Kimberly Bartay of Victoria; son, James Bartay (Michelle) of Victoria; sisters, Sheila Morton of Vidor, TX, Kathy Haines of New Jersey, Debbie Grimaldo (Armando) of Victoria; brothers, Bobby Morton (Kathy) of Vidor, TX, Monroe “Boogie” Schroeder (Cheri) of Victoria; grandchildren, Ashley Ohrt (Patrick), Lacey Bengs (Brent), Cortland Johnson (Chris), Payden Jacob (Macey), Avery Bartay and great-grandchildren, Bonner Bengs, William Ohrt, Hadley Johnson, Weston Ohrt, Cole Johnson and Bennett Bengs.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Bartay III, second husband, Alvin Dincans and brother, Ronnie Morton.

Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10 AM at The Jesus Church with burial to immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Vance Eggemeyer, Randal Eggemeyer, Chris Johnson, Patrick Ohrt, Brent Bengs and Payden Jacob.

Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Reinecke and Monroe “Boogie” Schroeder.
