

Cosme Espinoza, Jr., 64, was born Saturday, September 20, 1952 in Victoria. He passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 and was met at the gates of Heaven by Jesus and his parents, Cosme A. and Aurora Vela Espinoza. He graduated from Victoria High School and later served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Wurzbury, Germany and Fort Carson, Colorado. Cosme worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 2015.
He is survived by his loving companion, Martha Salazar; sons, Cosme Espinoza, III and Mathew Espinoza; step children, Raquel, Marcos, Crystal and Nicole; grandson, Jordan; siblings, Hope Trevino, John V. Espinoza and Ted Espinoza; nieces, Erica Espinoza, Eileen Trevino, Valerie Simmons, Holli Sanchez; nephews, John “Mookie” Espinoza, Larry Theo Trevino; great nieces, Lexie, Kahlyn, A.J., Bella; great great niece, Lyla Eileen; a host of friends and close relatives he cherished.
The family will hold a visitation on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Colonial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Full Military Honors under the auspice of the Victoria County Veterans Council AL, CWV, DAV, MCL, MOWW, EX-POW, MOPH, WS, KWV, VFW. Pallbearers are John 'Mookie' Espinoza, Cameron Dunham, Larry Theo Trevino, Alfred Vela, Mathew Espinoza and Marcos Salazar. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of U.S. Post Office-Victoria.
