

David E. Clark was born April 21, 1949 in McAllen to the late John and Ruth Clark. He died suddenly in Houston April 19, 2012, two days short of his 63rd birthday. David was a faithful, devoted, and loving husband, father, and granddad. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Mullican Clark; and his daughter, Michelle Clark Leggett and her family, Jesse A. Leggett III and their two sons, Curtis Clark Leggett and John Hansen Leggett; his brothers, Jack and Bobby Clark; and his sisters, Cherrille Mashore and Mary Ann Johnson.
David loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, hunter and rider. David enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Riverside Park or in tournaments around the state, placing in the Victoria City Championship in both 2009 and 2010. He loved to hunt in Encino with his son-in-law, Jay. He was a member of the local Harley Davidson group and lived by their motto “Live to ride, ride to eat”, enjoying trips around Texas to see the sights and sample local cuisine on his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Dave took daily walks in the park with his dog, Harley, since retiring from Lack’s Stores Inc. in 2011 where he was the Assistant Comptroller for 34 years. He served in the U.S. Army for two years as a military police officer stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. David graduated from Texas A&M University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
As an example of his giving nature, David was a registered donor, and in his death is helping give life to over 50 other people. A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 30th at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to the American Heart Association in David’s name.
