Delores Schulz Watkins passed away from this world into God’s waiting arms March 8, 2024. She was born October 3, 1935 in Karnes City, Texas to the late Edwin Karl Schulz and Edna Zaeske Taliafeirs. Delores married Fred M. Watkins in 1952. She was a long time member of First English Lutheran Church in Victoria. She worked in the banking business for 25 years. After she retired from banking, she owned a commercial pecan cracking business for 15 years.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Schulz Kennedy; nephews, Tyson E. Kennedy, Steven Schulz and Clay Schulz; niece, Elaine Schulz Dunn (Dan); great nieces, Ashley Hawthorne and Lily Dunn; great nephew, Oliver Dunn; and sister-in-law, Debbie Schulz.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Schulz and Edna Taliafeirs; husband, Fred Watkins; step-mother, Geraldine Schulz Smith; brother, Steven Edwin Schulz; and brother-in-law, Michael C. Kennedy.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 5pm-7pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Victoria, with memorial services beginning at 7pm. Interment will be held at Uvalde Cemetery in Uvalde on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 12PM. Honorary pallbearers are Tyson Kennedy, Steven Schulz, Clay Schulz, Elaine Dunn, Becky Danz, Cindy Castillo and Candido Bautista.
