

Dorothy Alice, George, 89, of Victoria passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born July 30, 1921 in Orange, NJ to the late Joseph and Josephine Schill Cohen. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include her daughters, Nita (James) Voigt of Victoria, Dorothy (David) Oefinger of Round Rock; son, Zachary (Maxine) George of Yoakum; eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. George was preceded in death by her husband, Z. T. George and a son, Wayne George.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 6-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. A rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church with the funeral mass to follow at 2 PM with Rev. George Henninger officiating.. Interment and graveside services will follow with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council at the Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Mark Voigt, Zachary George, Jr., Jeremy Voigt, Toby George, Chris Oefinger and Cameron Oefinger.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundations or Hospice of South Texas.
