Ellen Jane Hopper Galloway, 72, of Victoria, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 31, 2019. Ellen was born February 12, 1946, in Wharton to the late Myrtle Weaver and Earl Hopper. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by her daughters Natalie Galloway Bowland (Wayne), Shellie Galloway, and Christie Galloway Craft (Mike), all of Victoria; brother Daniel Hopper (Sheryl) of Friendswood; and grandchildren Kayla Bowland, Kyle Craft, Ashley Bowland, and Lauren Craft.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy Guin and Lois Toll, and brothers Earl Jr., James, Henry, and Bobby Hopper.
Ellen retired from the City of Victoria's Water Department after 26 years of service. She volunteered with the Citizens Medical Center's “Pink Ladies.” She was an active member of Celebration Church. She touched so many lives throughout her 50 years as a Sunday School teacher. She loved spending time with her family and dear friends. She enjoyed sitting on the beach reading a good book as she sipped her ½ & ½ tea. She was the “Queen” of Dairy Queen.
Visitation was Sunday, February 3, 2019, from 4-6 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service was Monday, February 4, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Celebration Church, with burial to immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Kyle Craft, David Hopper, Daniel Hopper III, Matthew Hopper, Keith Hanslik, Jacob Badough, Parker Williams, and Diego Calvo are Pallbearers.
Daniel Hopper, Wayne Bowland, Mike Craft, Duane Williams, and Keith Hubbard are Honorary Pallbearers.
