Eunice Marie Boyd, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2020. Eunice was born October 16, 1934 in Morales, Texas to the late Mary Ann and Fletcher Robinson. Eunice was a beautician and a certified nurse’s aide and retired from Citizen’s Medical Center. Eunice was a devoted Methodist and a member of Webster Chapel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She taught Bible study at Murray Senior Citizen Center and in her younger days, she was the youth director for MYF at Scruggs Chapel United Methodist Church in Edna. She also enjoyed working for Child Protective Services for many years.
Eunice is survived by her daughters, Regina Clay of Edna, Patricia Armstrong (Herschell) of Rosenberg, Jean Edwards (Ervin) of Victoria and Denise Youngblood (Wiley) of Victoria. Eunice also leaves behind nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The family also remembers Eunice’s special friends, Lucille Harris, Evelyn Sheppard, Betty McMurray, Clara Goode and Beatrice Kay and those who have preceded her in death, Normazelle Robinson, Estelle Barnes and Maggie McGrew.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Levi F. Boyd and thirteen siblings.
Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2020 from 6-8 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services are Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11 AM at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with burial to immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Larry Allen, Jesse James Robinson Jr., Leo McGrew, Hayward Robinson Jr., Keon Boyd and Kobe Boyd.
Honorary pallbearers are Hayward Robinson, Otis Jones, Sidney Williams, Corey Boyd, Dominique McGrew, Devon Boyd, Levi Boyd Jr. and Kenneth Grant Jr.
A special thank you to Harbor Hospice, their nursing staff, and a special thank you to CNA Melissa for all of her care for mom. Also a thank you to Twin Pines North Nursing Staff and Melva Griffin in the administrative department.
