

Fleta Mae Slavik, 80, of Victoria passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012. She was born February 10, 1932, in Rector, Arkansas, to the late Alford and Clara Ellen McGinthy. Fleta married Milton Slavik September 2, 1960. Fleta retired from the Victoria Police Department after 23 years as Chief Dispatcher. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church for over 50 years where she was active in Altar Guild, Hospital Callers, Mary-Martha Circle and as a volunteer for the church office.
Survivors include her husband of almost 52 years, Milton J. Slavik; daughters, Jeannie Dodds and husband, Ronnie, of Kyle and Barbara Ann Kline of Burnet; sons, Bud Hankins and wife, Linda, Coy Slavik and wife, Ofemia, and Allen Slavik and wife, Karol, all of Victoria; sisters, Bonita Parsons of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Sarah Parks of St. Petersburg, Florida; brothers, Alford McGinthy, Jr. of East Lansing, Michigan, Tommy McGinthy of St. Louis, Missouri and Archie McGinthy of Maryland; grandchildren, Tisha Dodds Storm, Thad Dodds, Jason Hankins, Ashlee Hankins Seale, Dayne Kline, Holly Kline, Wendy Ward, Tabitha Slavik, Chris Slavik, Sarah Slavik, Hannah Slavik and Caleb Slavik; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cleo Wheaton; and a grandson, Chad Slavik.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, April 23, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Chip Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Thad Dodds, Jason Hankins, Caleb Slavik, Chris Slavik, great-grandsons, Ian Storm and Seth Storm.
Honorary pallbearer will be beloved deceased grandson, Chad Slavik.
