Frances Marie McNeill died peacefully on September 29, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. At the time of her death she was at her home and surrounded by her family and close friends, just as she had always wished. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sophie Gonzales Brown and her father, Jimmy Brown.
A native Victorian, she will be remembered for her never ending compassion and generosity toward others as well as her smile and wonderful personality. She married her high school sweetheart and was married for 55 years until the time of her death. She was active in the community with service organizations and was a successful local businesswoman. Along with her husband, she founded and built Crystal Ice Company which she operated as a family business for over 30 years. She also managed the family ranching operations for most of her adult life along with other properties in Victoria County.
All those close to Frances Marie knew how important her family was to her. In addition to her own two children, she opened her home to several other young people throughout her life and bestowed upon them her wisdom, guidance and undying love. Their accomplishments became her accomplishments and she was always there with a kind, encouraging word.
Frances Marie is survived by her loving husband, John L. McNeill and sons, Dr. John McNeill and wife, Wendy, and Mark McNeill and wife, Michelle, all of Victoria. In addition, she is survived by others who were very close to her heart including Melanie Torrence of Lubbock, Texas and Tommy Warner and Bubba Warner, both of Victoria. Her extended family has also been blessed with 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Services for Frances Marie will include a visitation at Rosewood Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm followed by Funeral Services at Rosewood Funeral Chapel Saturday morning at 10:30 am. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Mehran Nezhad, Urban Underbrink, George Filley III, Nick Cadle, Randy Torrence, Tommy Warner and Bubba Warner.
Our family would be remiss if we did not recognize her outstanding medical team including Dr. Mehran Nezhad, Dr. Hassan Sabbagh, Dr. Kent Osborne, Mary Rude, FNP, Crown Hospice and all of the wonderful, dedicated caregivers who helped her through her illness.
In lieu of flowers, our family has asked that donations be made to Crown Hospice, 1101 Salem Road, Suite A, Victoria, Texas, 77904 or the Baylor Breast Center in her name.
