Frances L. Nelson Smith

Frances L. Smith, 86, of Victoria, passed away December 27, 2013. Frances was born December 15, 1927 in New York to the late Harry and Mabel Widstrom Nelson. Frances attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and loved being a wife, mother and grandma to her children and grandchildren. Frances and her husband, Lee “Jim” Smith, Jr. were very involved and supported the Veterans Association and loved serving and being active in Faith Family Church.

Frances is survived by her daughters; Tracy Caldwell and husband Gary of Victoria, Texas, Leann Smith of Tyler, Texas, Becky Benafield and Doug Parsley of Tyler, Texas; son, Tom Smith and wife Jennifer of Franklin, Tennessee; brother, Bruce L. Nelson of Pflugerville, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Caldwell, Shawna Figuerova and husband Luther, Matthew Caldwell, Erin Caldwell, Jason Parsley, Bailey Benafield, Kohl Benafield, Jamie Smith; great grandchildren, Caleb, Casey and Caden Figuerova and Oliver Caldwell and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lee “Jim” Smith, Jr.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Faith Family Church with Pastor Larry Helms officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Caldwell, Michael Caldwell, Matthew Caldwell, Luther Figuerova, Cy Cervantez and Bobby Dick.
