Mrs. Genita Gerland

Genita Gerland, 92, of Victoria, formerly of Alice, passed away September 25, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was born March 2, 1918, in Oklahoma. She retired after 30 years as stock room manager with Texas Industrial Services.

She is survived by daughters, Peggy Cunningham and Carole Weiss both of Victoria; son Eddie Gerland and his wife, Linda, of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren, sixteen great- grandchildren and thirteen great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Gerland; three brothers; six sisters; son, Louis Wayne Gerland; and grandson, Edwin Schuenemann.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday, September 27, 2010, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 28, 2010, from the Rosewood Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery in Alice, Texas, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to South Texas Children Home or Northside Baptist Church.
