

George L. Lowman III, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Sunday, August 14, 2016, in Spring, Texas, at the age of 77. George was born in Midlothian, Texas on January 28, 1939, to George and Marguerite Lowman. He was a 1957 graduate from Nazareth Academy in Victoria, where he met his loving wife Carol. They were married August 9, 1958, in Victoria, Texas. George served in the US Navy, was a Cub Master, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked in purchasing, and retired from Coastal Corporation in 1997, after 18 years of dedicated service. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting on the family property. George was loved by all those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his kindness and generous heart.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Carol Lynn Lowman. He is survived by his sister, Betty Luby; three children, son, George Lowman IV and wife, Stacy Lowman, son, Michael Lowman and Patti Graham, and daughter, Melissa Lowman; six grandchildren, George Lowman V, Christi Lowman Quinn and husband, Travis Quinn, Eric David, Christopher David, Kaiden Kelley and Annika Kelley; and 2 great grandchildren, Fiona Quinn and Vera Quinn, along with many friends and relatives.
A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 6:30 pm with a memorial ceremony officiated by Deacon Jim Koenig to follow at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria, Texas, on Sunday August 21st. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm . Refreshments to follow.
A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be in George’s memory to the National Parkinson Foundation.
