

Lupe Rodriguez Zarate, 80, formerly of Victoria, passed away peacefully at her home in Houston on Saturday, October 24, 2015. She was born August 6, 1935 in Placedo, TX to the late Aristo and Andrea Romo Rodriguez.
Survivors include her husband, Julian Ozuna Zarate of Orange, TX; children, Roxanna (Mario) Hernandez of Woodsboro, Sonya (Eli) Ochoa of Houston, Armando Javier Zarate of Orange, and Cristela Zarate (Red Rodriguez, Jr.) of Victoria; and her beloved grandchildren, Thomas and Matthew Ochoa, Melinda and Kasandra Hernandez.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Luis Diaz, Jessie, Lupe and Joe Rodriguez; and sisters, Carmen D. Hernandez and Susie R. Falcon.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited 9:30 am, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Rev. Dan Morales officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eli Ochoa (Honorary), Thomas and Matthew Ochoa, Johnny and John Cisneros, Red Rodriguez, Jr. and Mario Hernandez.
The Ochoa Family would like to give special recognition to caregivers, Hemy Trejo, Maria Molina and Lupita Johnson who gave devoted care to Lupe. They would also like to thank Kindred At Home Hospice Care in Houston for the guidance and support provided.
