Gwendolyn Marie Nelson

Gwendolyn Marie Smith Nelson, 78, of Inez passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014. She was born September 3, 1935 in Granite, Oklahoma to the late Shirley Sidney and Mertie Reed Smith. Gwendolyn was a housewife and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Nelson, Sr.; daughters, Mary Ann (Fred) Grantham of Inez, Sharon (Tony) Erdelt of Inez, Laurie (Bob) Cuthbertson of Fulshear; sons, Charles (Donna) Nelson, Jr of Inez, Sidney (Kari) Nelson of Victoria; sisters, Edra Mae Maddox of Robstown, Shirley Richey of Orange; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nelson is preceded in death by her sisters, Wanda Smith, Anna Mae Smith, Geraldine Langdon, Faye Graumann, Treva Moore, Evelyn Hardeman and brothers, Edgar Smith, Gerald Smith and Arkley Davidson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 6-7 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez with a rosary to be recited at 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17 Church Street in Inez with burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Nelson, John Nelson, Justin Nelson, Bob Grantham, James Grantham, Aaron Erdelt, Ricky Maddox, Will Thompson, Anthony Ridenour and Ben Perkins.
