Gwendolyn Marie Ara Totah

Gwendolyn Marie Ara Totah, 80, of Victoria passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012. She was born September 3, 1931, in Victoria to the late Louis and Isabel Ara. She was co-owner of the Corral for 59 years and a member of the Mid-Coast Restaurant Association. She was also a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.

Survivors include her husband, Albert J. Totah, Sr.; daughters, Denise Totah, Stephanie Totah, Cassandra Totah Garcia, and son Albert Totah Jr, all of Victoria, and daughter, Lisa Totah Brooks of Houston; sisters, Mary (Roy) Bush of Victoria and Margaret Saludis of Houston; brother, Louis (Lee) Ara, Jr. of Cleveland, Texas; sister-in-law, Jeanette Totah; brother-in-law, George (Dee) Totah; grandchildren, Richard Garcia, Jr., Jonathan Garcia, Tiffany Totah, Ashley Brooks and Nicholas Brooks; great-grandchildren, Audrianna Garcia, Christian Garcia, Ava Totah and Matthew Garcia and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Saul.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday, February 27, 2012, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, Msgr. Michael Harrold officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Garcia, Jr., Jonathan Garcia, Nicholas Brooks, Roy Bush, Jr., Louis Ara, Mark Saludis, Brian Saludis and Mason Loos.

Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Neitsch, Jr. and Robert Trevino.
