Helen Josephine Duncan

Helen Josephine Duncan, 98, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 at home. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Dayton, Ohio in 1951 and worked as a registered nurse until 1993. She loved to cook and make homemade meals for her family. She made the best lemon meringue pies!

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mary Smith, and her sister, Marianne Smith Pierce.

She is survived by her children, Victoria Schley Cliffe, Michael Duncan, Karen Duncan Jarvis, Donald L. Duncan, Jr. and Marianne Hanks and her husband David; and her grandchildren, Thor Hanks, Kenneth Schley, Kyle Schley, Karen Arguellez, Natalie Walker and Heather Harrison; along with 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild with another one on the way.

A Rosary will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
