

Hermann Grueneberg, 85 passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Victoria, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1929 in Villingen, Germany to the late Erhardt and Anna Feis Grueneberg. Hermann formally trained in the art of music in Germany, he came to America and worked at Hauschild’s before opening the Heidelberg with his brother, Fritz. In 1964 he met and married the love of his life, Getrude and together they partnered to open Hermann’s Keyboard Music for 20 years. Fritz and Hermann, along with their wives formed a band, entertaining people for many years. In addition, he spent 40 years teaching piano, organ, guitar and accordion to hundreds of students from Victoria and surrounding counties. Hermann never completely retired, he continued to tune instruments and play his music.
Survivors include his daughters, Michelle (Pat) Aitchison of Victoria, Pam (Bob) James of Victoria, Ellen (Bill) Hudnell of San Antonio; son, David (Catrina) Grueneberg of Katy; sister, Hanni Rimmele of Germany; brothers, Rudolph Grueneberg of Germany, Fritz Grueneberg of Victoria; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Hermann was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude; one sister and five brothers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 3-4 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with a memorial service to follow at 4 PM with Mr. Billy Alex officiating.
