Inez Grant Green

Inez Grant Green, after 91 years on earth, received her heavenly wings on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born September 14, 1934, to Raymond and Mabel Grant in Louise, Texas, and in later years the family moved to Victoria.

Inez was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Baptist Church, where she served in the Senior Choir, as an Adult Sunday School Facilitator, Senior Mission and many other activities when asked to help. She enjoyed cooking, baking, working in her yard, and family get-togethers.

Inez is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Johnny Green, eight sisters, Myrtle Robinson, Irene Lott, Birdie Lee Grant, Baby Girl Grant, Mattie Bell, Ethel Grant, Ellise Grant, and Ilee Wade, five brothers, Elvin Grant, Raymond Grant, George A. Grant, George B. Grant, and Robert Grant, and special friend Ted Nelson.

Left to share fond and loving memories are her brother, J R (Easter Mae) Grant, son, Tim (Lisa) Green, daughters, Johnnie Marie (Al) Williams, Cathy Ann (Bobby) Thompson, three grandsons, Timothy (Ellen) Green, Nathaniel (Tana) Green, and Kennis “KJ” Thompson, granddaughter, Raven (Mitchell) Spiser, four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Nathaniel Jr., Sevyn and Suthern. In addition, Inez leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, all of whom will cherish her memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Baptist Church Faith in Action Fund.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at noon at St. Peter’s Baptist Church, immediately followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honoring her by serving as Pallbearers are, Pastor Max Garza, Deacon Louis Barefield, Deacon Lawrence Sutton, Deacon Tyrone Hodge, Deacon Gordon Williams and Otis Bell. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of St. Peter’s Baptist Church and Dr. Jesse DeLeon.
