

James Patrick Waller was born in San Antonio, Texas, January 30, 1940 to James Pinkney Waller III and Marie Winklarek Waller. He later changed his name to James Pinkney Waller IV. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1959 and soon after that entered the U.S, Marines. He served 4 years, 6 months and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a member of the American Legion and the Marine Corp League. He passed away February 24, 2018. James retired from the Victoria Fire Department in 1998 as Captain.
James enjoyed canoeing, fishing and camping. He participated in the Texas Water Safari from San Marcos to the coast. In 2006, along with Norris Teague, he sought to form a canoeing/kayaking club and water trail with easy access to the river.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lila Jane Hahn Waller; son, James (Butch) Waller V; brother, Timothy Waller.
Survivors: Sisters, Betty (Red) Kirby of Blessing, Simone (Yves) Alart of France, Simone (Bob Ahrens) Tipton of Victoria, and Celestine Merritt of Houston; Brother, Dennis Waller of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery (Red River and Main) with Rev. John Waak officiating. NO FLOWERS, your presence is all that’s requested.
