John Heinold, 78, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. Born in Goliad on April 2, 1947, John lived a life full of adventure. He dedicated his life to his family and his career, affording him the opportunity to explore new places and meet new people. He lived and worked in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. He enjoyed stories from his children and grandchildren, driving his truck, checking on his cattle, listening to Bob Dylan, and playing golf. A fan of the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys, John spent countless hours watching his favorite teams in his favorite rocking chair. In his later years, John found immense happiness in his role as a grandfather, cherishing the time spent with his boys, sharing stories, attending band concerts, plays, and baseball games, and going to the driving range.
John also had a unique appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, particularly watching the rain from his back porch out on the prairie.
John is remembered by his loving family and friends, who will remember him for his warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit. He is survived by his children Matthew Heinold (Kelsey), Melissa Correll (James), Mandy Heinold, Jobeth Heinold, former wife Sandra Heinold, and former wife Josie Heinold. He is also survived by grandsons Jacob Correll, Connor Correll, Jackson Crow, Charlie Crow, Hayden Heinold, Gunner Heinold and by brothers, Larry Heinold (Brenda) and Donald Heinold (Barbara), and many much loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Heinold, mother, Lela Bell Groll Heinold, and his daughter, Beth Heinold. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
In honor of John's memory, a celebration of his life will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on August 29, 2025 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
