John D. Morrison, 68 of Victoria passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019. He was born May 14, 1951 in Broken Arrow, OK to Etcil R. (Hoot) and Cara Staten Morrison. John attended Southwestern State University in Oklahoma; University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa, after completing his education he went on to manager of many building material companies including Payless Cashways, Hope Lumber and Lowes.

With his love of the outdoors, John spent many hour’s quail hunting, bass fishing when he was younger and sitting on his brick patio or the veranda at Sodalis in later years. He took pleasure in genealogical research (or digging up dead relatives according to his niece, Angie) and historic preservation (especially his own personal home, as he affectionately referred to as his “Money Pit”).
John appreciated music, relating stories of all the great bands and performers he saw in person including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstadt, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeplin.
