Josefa "Josie" D. DeLa gARZA Jimenez

Josefa “Josie” D. Jimenez, 85, of Victoria passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014. She was born on December 3, 1928 in Victoria County to the late Jesus and Maria DelaGarza. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She retired from Citizens Medical Center after 32 years of service.

She is survived by her children, Gilbert Jimenez (Carolyn) of Schertz, TX, Daniel Jimenez (Maria), Richard Jimenez (Suzanne), all of Victoria, Jimmy Jimenez (Lynette) of Katy, TX, Jesse Jimenez (Camile) of Goliad, TX; daughters, Irma Trevino (Art) of Sugarland, TX and Delia Jimenez of Jersey Village, TX; sisters, Julia Ramirez of Bloomington, TX and Maria Alvarado of Aransas Pass, TX; brother, Samuel DelaGarza of Austin; 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gilberto Jimenez; brothers, David, Raymundo, Alejandro, Jesus and Antonio DelaGarza; and sisters, Genoveva Salazar, Gurtrude Olivares, Vicenta Contreras and Tomasita Perez.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home and a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, November 10, 2014 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at DelaGarza Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kevin Trevino, Michael Jimenez, Keith Trevino, Kris Trevino, Gabriel Jimenez and Jonathan Jimenez. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matthew, John and Alex Jimenez and Ruben Cantu.

Family would like to give a Special Thanks to the Altus Hospice of Sugarland, TX and Hospice of South Texas, Victoria for the care given to their mother.
