Josephine G. Garcia Jackson

She was a homemaker and a retired teacher’s assistant for Beeville I. S. D. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court of St. Ann. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #9197 of Beeville, and American Legion Auxiliary Post # 166 of Victoria and the Jack Ringel Marine Auxiliary, Victoria Chapter. Josephine was an active volunteer in her community, and a member of the AARP.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra R. Gonzales and husband Lorenzo of Victoria; sons, Zaragosa G. “Gus” Rodriguez Jr. and wife Mary Ann of Victoria and Robert G. “Bobby” Rodriguez and wife Lisa of Magnolia; brother, Alejandro Garcia and wife Mary of Sherman; seven grandchildren, Nicole Scott, Suzannah Stout, Stephen Rodriguez, Sara Beth Rodriguez, Jennifer Rodriguez Tigrett, Jeffrey Rodriguez, and Jamie Rodriguez; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Hortencia Chavez and Margaret Bela; and brothers, Bence Garcia, Benito Garcia, and Lorenzo Garcia.

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, 7:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Stan Deboe officiating.
