Josephine Moya Lerma, a woman of unwavering strength, went to her heavenly home February 1, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on March 17, 1930, in Victoria County, Texas to the late Leopoldo and Felicita Moya. Josephine will be remembered for her warmth, generosity and unwavering love for her family. She dedicated her life to her children and was always there with a listening ear, a warm embrace and a guiding hand. She was a source of support and encouragement. You would always find her reading her Bible and praying for her family.
Josephine is survived by her children, Frances Osegueda (Raul), Richard Lerma (Nadine), Margaret Salazar (George), John David Lerma and Henry Lerma; daughter-in-law, Maria Lerma. She had 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nicanor Lerma; son, Rudy Lerma; step daughters, Lucy Garcia and Tonia Longoria; sisters, Guadalupe Gallardo, Nieves Williams, and Estella Ybarbo; and brothers, Ernesto Moya and Luis Canul.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 15, 2025 at 1pm at Colonial Funeral Home.
